Cross- border projects

Borders have a long tradition in many regions of Lower Austria. A relatively new issue is the overcoming and bridging of them. Since 1989 (i.e. the year of the fall of the Iron Curtain) this issue has become very important. This occasion changed everything. The state borders became less and less important. But to the same effet, mental boundaries between municipalities, regions and departments became visible.

The most important point, when doing a cross- border project, is the cooperation beyond the state borders. New cooperation systems and networks  should be created. To achieve this, we have to come out of our shells and dare to approach each other. In doing so, we trust in our ability to learn. With this ability, changes can be possible and old structures can become lively again. All this should be our all advantage because new economic chances and friends are worth while.
